At ProMat 2011 in Chicago, Ill., Raymond will host a one-hour educational session featuring Mike Coronado, distribution director for The Container Store, on Monday, March 21 at 2 p.m. in Room S502A. Coronado, along with representatives from Raymond and Malin Integrated Handling Solutions, an authorized Raymond Sales and Service Center, will share how Raymond’s CustomCare™ warehouse optimization approach benefitted The Container Store by enabling it to collaborate closely with Malin in planning its distribution center. By working with Malin to pay special attention to improved racking layout, improved slotting and equipment dependability, The Container Store estimates it has improved its process time by 30 percent since 2004.

“Malin’s expertise made the process of planning the facility, acquiring material handling equipment and maintaining the equipment more simplified,” Coronado said. “Malin could provide us with a single source for a variety of equipment and services, like racking and battery-charging systems. It was a big deciding factor in who we chose to work with for our lift trucks and our facility redesign. We looked years down the road to see what partner we wanted to do business with.”
