GREENE, N.Y. The Raymond Corporation's new 4700 Series four-wheel, sit-down electric lift trucks, are more maneuverable and more responsive than any truck in their class, translating to increased operator efficiency and productivity.

Simple to learn and operate, these trucks offer a roomy operator compartment with intuitive ergonomic controls. Both new and experienced operators will feel more confident and productive. Facility managers will appreciate the lower maintenance costs afforded by Raymond's exclusive ACR System™.

"When operators feel good about their machines, they work at peak efficiency." says Jeff Leggett, marketing director for Class I products at The Raymond Corporation. "With more efficient load handling, operators will find they are able to get more work done in a shift. Available in a wide variety of capacities from 3,000 to 6,000 pounds, and 36- or 48-volt configurations, the 4700 Series will fit virtually any application."

The 4700 Series trucks lead their class in maneuverability. Raymond's unique steering system design, enhanced by dual powered, counter-rotating AC drive motors, gives the 5,000-pound Model 4700 C50HM (for High Maneuverability) the advantage of perfect circle steering. The tighter turning radius – up to 7-inches less than other trucks – provides greater agility and more efficient, faster right angle stacking. In fact, the C50HM will turn within its own footprint; perfect circle steering is also standard on the C30 and C40 models.

Raymond's® exclusive ACR System for both lift and drive takes performance of the 4700 Series trucks to a completely new level, delivering faster, smoother operation, quicker response and lower maintenance. The ACR System delivers more uptime, more performance per battery charge and lower maintenance costs versus comparable DC-powered trucks. AC motors have fewer wearable parts than DC motors, so there are lower costs associated with labor and replacement parts.

"Cost savings is another benefit of the 4700 Series," Leggett says. "The ACR System uses less energy, saving on batteries, chargers and downtime. To cut ownership costs even more, oil-cooled disc brakes are standard on the Models C30, C40 and C50HM. The sealed brake system keeps out dirt and grime and can last up to twice as long as dry brakes".

Operator comfort on all 4700 Series trucks starts with a spacious operator's compartment that is easy to access. To fit most any operator, the semisuspension seat adjusts for back tilt, operator weight and lumbar support. A convenient tilt steering wheel is included as standard equipment.

The truck's controls have an intuitive, tactile, natural feel, making operation nearly effortless. Color-coded levers for lift-lower, tilt and sideshift are within easy reach. Fingertip controls and bidirectional floor-mounted pedals are available for maximum productivity in high-shuttle operations. At the touch of a button, operators can initiate up to six preprogrammed performance speeds that match the application operator and skill level.

Raymond's uniquely designed open view mast gives operators a wide open view of the load, resulting in more efficient handling and stacking, and less product damage. The 4700 Series is loaded with more standard equipment than any other truck in its class. A variety of performance-enhancing options also available include cold-storage conditioning, multiple overhead guard and mast tilt configurations, work lights, a variety of tires, and backup and travel alarms.

GREENE, NY - The Raymond Corporation now offers the iWarehouse™ system, an enterprise fleet management solution for warehouse and distribution center managers to collect and analyze real-time lift truck data to maximize fleet productivity and reduce costs.

The iWarehouse system draws real-time, accurate information from the operating systems of Raymond^® lift trucks. Warehouse managers can access this information via a custom Web portal to generate reports and benchmark lift truck and operator productivity; diagnose potential lift truck issues remotely; reduce the risk of impacts; and optimize lift truck capital and maintenance costs. The communications system is enabled through an exclusive relationship with ShockWatch^®, an industry leader in usage monitoring and impact detection in the handling of goods across a full range of industries.

"The iWarehouse system provides transparent access to metrics that enable facility managers to reduce labor and maintenance costs, and improve operator productivity like never before," says David Furman, vice president for The Raymond Corporation. "When a vehicle can communicate real-time information about itself and its activities, it allows for continuous operation improvement. Ultimately, this information can be used to optimize one fleet or multiple fleets of lift trucks in a warehouse or distribution center."

Revolutionary data gathering

The Raymond iWarehouse system connects to the lift truck vehicle manager with a single connector — the iPort^® — in contrast to the "octopus" design that is found in some lift trucks today and has eight to 12 wires connected to switches, contactors and other external sensors, which add more potential failure points to the lift truck. The data from lift trucks equipped with iWarehouse is not inferred from contactors and sensors, but comes from the vehicle manager itself, for improved accuracy and data quality. The unique architecture enables revolutionary modules that only Raymond can offer.

Modules customize iWarehouse

The iWarehouse system is available with a variety of modules that users can choose to meet their specific needs. The modules enable warehouse managers to collect detailed information about lift truck fleets and even send the lift trucks some instructions.

iAlert^® automatically sends alert code notifications via e-mail to the service technician to identify required maintenance or to provide an early indicator of an impending maintenance issue. The iAlert feature improves maintenance efficiency by telling service technicians which parts to have on hand for fixing problems on a single service call.
iControl^® configures specific operator profiles based on skill level to limit lift speed and acceleration, which are set automatically when the operator signs in to use the truck. Parameters can be updated as operators meet training and experience requirements. iControl also verifies that operator licenses are current and ensures the operator is certified to operate a particular type of lift truck.
iImpact^® notifies warehouse and service managers if there is an impact or other significant event while the truck is in motion. The system can be programmed to limit travel speeds based on the level of the impact.
iVerify^® requires the operator to review the OSHA-mandated operator daily checklist before the lift truck will start and notifies the service manager if an item needs service. If critical items fail inspection, the lift truck will not start until service is performed.
iMetrics^® tracks lift truck usage data for facility managers to determine whether the best truck was used for a specific application, total hours of operation and number of lift trucks used during a given shift. This data helps managers evaluate operator productivity and optimize lift truck fleets.
iTrack^® generates reports on lift truck fleet data by truck, facility, region and company. iTrack allows online access through a personalized Web portal to track parts and labor time for each truck; and generate custom reports that reveal opportunities to save time, maintenance and costs across the enterprise. Vital information, such as best-practice presentations, special warranties, truck specifications and contact information for dealers or service technicians, also is available on the portal.

GREENE, N.Y. - The updated 7000 Series Reach-Fork^® trucks from The Raymond Corporation now perform storage and retrieval tasks at greater lift heights and with heavier load capacities. The Model 7420 lifts up to 421 in. (1,069.34 cm) and has a 4,500-lb. capacity and 3,200-lb. double deep reach capacity. The Model 7440 lifts up to 444 in. (1,128 cm) and has a 4,500-lb. capacity and 3,200-lb. double deep reach capacity.

"The enhanced mast height and load capacity, combined with Raymond's unique open view mast, are a perfect fit for warehouses with very tall racking," says John Colborn, reach truck director at The Raymond Corporation. GREENE, N.Y. — The new Model 4450 3-wheel sit-down counterbalanced truck from The Raymond Corporation is engineered for productivity, energy efficiency and enhanced performance in a variety of material handling applications. Designed for smooth transport of products and stacking of pallets, the Model 4450 features a short head length that reduces turn radius, also making it ideal for tight spaces, such as those found in manufacturing, in warehousing and on loading docks. The Model 4450 can handle capacities up to 4,000 pounds (1,814 kg).

As a standard feature, selectable travel speeds enable the Model 4450 operator to properly adjust the truck to the environment for enhanced productivity and better control. For example, an operator can easily reduce travel speeds while unloading a trailer and switch to higher speeds for long distance transport.

GREENE, N.Y. — New fork-tip lasers from The Raymond Corporation assist Reach-Fork® truck operators in accurately placing forks when storing and retrieving pallets in racks. Lasers are available for both new and existing Raymond^® Reach-Fork trucks.

"When the lift truck forks are raised above 12 feet, a laser line displays on the pallet to show operators the fork position, helping lift truck operators more easily and quickly engage pallets," says Susan Comfort, Class II product manager for Raymond Corporation. "This solution is ideal for applications with tall racks, warehouses without optimum lighting, and freezer applications, and to aid newer lift truck operators."

The fork-tip laser is available in green (for heights up to 442 inches) and red (for heights up to 300 inches). The green laser is ideal for applications that use blue-painted pallets, brighter environments or other applications where a red laser may not be clearly visible. Both fork-tip lasers are powered by the lift truck's battery, eliminating downtime for operators to change a separate laser battery.

GREENE, N.Y. — For narrow aisle applications, the 9000 Series Swing-Reach^® lift trucks from The Raymond Corporation now offer energy-saving features, such as AC technology for longer battery run times, regenerative lowering that automatically recharges the battery and LED compartment lights.

Raymond's exclusive ACR System™ which combines AC drive motor and AC lift motor, provides quicker acceleration, smoother direction changes and quiet, precise traction and lift. The ACR System also delivers more runtime per battery charge and experiences less reduction in truck performance as the battery discharges for greater reliability.
"Regenerative lowering recharges the battery when the forks are lowered, which allows for longer battery life," says Susan Comfort, Class II product manager for The Raymond Corporation. "When lowering the forks with a load, the motor generates energy that is fed back into the battery, maximizing battery efficiency and providing a more consistent lifting and lowering speed."

The 9000 Series lift trucks can be used for both pallet handling and case picking for flexibility in changing warehouse environments and narrow aisles. The new Swing-Reach trucks can elevate up to 45 feet (12.8 m), can handle loads up to 60 inches (152.4 cm) deep or 108 inches (274.32 cm) wide, and can operate in aisles as narrow as 66 inches (167.64 cm).

The twin tubular mast design of the 9000 Series lift trucks provides optimum rigidity when traveling with the forks loaded and elevated. Dual I-beam construction and a wide footprint keep the operator's platform rock solid, even at the highest applications, for greater operator stability and enhanced visibility. Various driving positions enable lift truck operators to choose the best position for the application, such as sitting or standing, to enhance productivity and reduce fatigue. The contoured operator chair features adjustable padded armrests and lumbar support for superior operator comfort.

A heads-up display mounted on the protective rear window reports steer tire direction, load handler orientation and other key operational data. An electroluminescent display panel on the arm features a larger screen with real-time data, such as vehicle speed, load height and weight, fork position, and battery state-of-charge.

GREENE N.Y. - The Raymond Corporation now offers more versatility and higher productivity in a sit/stand reach truck. The new Raymond^® Model 7600 Reach-Fork^® truck allows the operator to sit or stand, depending on the material handling task being performed. The seated position enhances the range of operating positions, increasing operator comfort and lessening fatigue. The operator may choose the seated position for longer runs. This newest addition completes the Raymond 7000 Series of Reach-Fork trucks.

Raymond invented the Reach-Fork truck more than 50 years ago, revolutionizing the world of warehousing and distribution. The 7000 Series has become the industry's benchmark, allowing customers to choose the Raymond Reach-Fork truck that is right for them. Raymond offers the industry-leading universal stance, which offers excellent maneuverability for high stacking and tall loads and is a more productive solution for high-throughput applications. Also offered is the dockstance, which is best-suited for short travel and for operators who are accustomed to sidestance operation. The new Raymond Model 7600 truck features an ergonomic seat that flips up and out of the way to allow the operator to use the lift truck in a standing position. GREENE, N.Y. — The Raymond Corporation recently introduced a new version of its Maintenance Platform Vehicle (MPV). The Raymond^® MPV provides flexible operation, comfort and stability for overhead maintenance and repair at elevations up to 371 inches (9.4234 meters). The Raymond MPV has an enclosed operator platform and is ideal for overhead maintenance applications that require swift and reliable response.

Unlike maintenance platforms and traditional man lifts that must be lowered to travel, a lift truck equipped with the Raymond MPV can travel at its fully elevated height of 371 inches. The embedded ACR System™, which is standard on all MPV models, regulates speed relative to elevated height at a speed of 1 to 6.5 miles per hour when fully elevated.

"The Raymond MPV features a narrow profile that allows the vehicle to be used in very narrow aisles for maintaining light fixtures," says Susan Comfort, product manager, Class II products, for The Raymond Corporation. "In addition, the clear view mast provides excellent visibility for operators at all mast elevations."

GREENE, N.Y. — The Raymond Corporation's new Model 8900 pallet truck is ideal for dock operations, loading and unloading trailers, and transporting pallets horizontally. The Model 8900 pallet truck features Raymond's exclusive ACR System™ to facilitate productivity and comfort.

The Model 8900 uses Raymond's ACR System for quicker acceleration, smooth operation and greater energy efficiency. AC motors deliver more run time per battery charge and experience less reduction in truck performance as the battery discharges, even with a fully loaded pallet. AC technology also minimizes downtime and reduces cost of ownership because it has fewer wearable parts and requires less maintenance than DC systems.

"The Model 8900 pallet truck is designed to enhance operator performance and reduce maintenance," says Sue Rice, product manager, Class III products, for The Raymond Corporation. "It optimizes productivity while providing a lower cost of operation to our customers."

The pallet truck is available in 6,000-lb. and 8,000-lb. capacities. The truck's fork carriage design features new, exclusive long-wearing components for reduced downtime and maintenance costs.

The Model 8900 also is available with an optional operator compartment sensor system. This system uses multiple light beam sensors embedded in rear operator compartment housings. The sensors span the entry to the compartment. When the sensors are blocked or the beams are not seen or emitted, a tone sounds, a message scrolls on the operator display, and the truck will decelerate to a stop if traveling. If the truck is stationary, it will not allow travel until the object blocking the sensors is removed or the beam is seen or emitted.

GREENE, N.Y. — The Raymond Corporation offers visual assistance to lift truck operators storing and retrieving pallets at greater lift heights with its exclusive Vantage Point™ System color imaging system. The imaging system makes pallet tag identification quick and easy for lift truck operators working with high racking, thus increasing productivity and accuracy in warehouse operations. Vantage Point is an available option on new or retrofitted Raymond 7000 Series Reach-Fork^® and Deep-Reach^® trucks as well as tall EASi™ Reach-Fork and Deep-Reach trucks.

The system consists of a waterproof, high-resolution camera mounted below the truck carriage and a color monitor affixed to the operator compartment. The monitor provides a 52-degree view up, down, left and right.

"An exclusive adjustable reference line on the monitor shows the operator where the forks are located to aid in pick accuracy," says John Colborn, reach truck director at The Raymond Corporation. "The reference line is green to make it easy to see on the color monitor."

Built to handle the toughest environments, the Vantage Point System works in ambient temperatures and in freezers as cold as minus 20 F. The monitor requires minimal lighting and offers an effective reading of pallet tags with fonts 72 points or smaller from four feet away.

The Vantage Point System is available exclusively through authorized Raymond dealers.

GREENE, N.Y. — The Raymond Corporation introduces a new educational program — Steps To Safety™: Pedestrian Safety in a Material Handling Environment — that assists an employer in teaching pedestrians how to act responsibly in environments where lift trucks are operated. The training program, which includes a DVD, presentation materials with an end-of-program review, and a participant handout, can be facilitated by a local Raymond Sales and Service Center representative or by a trainer within a company.

Raymond's Steps To Safety program is uniquely designed to target the pedestrian, rather than the lift truck operator. This information assists the pedestrian in making the right decisions when working in material handling environments. Pedestrians will gain environmental awareness and visual communication skills through segments ranging from "Being a Defensive Pedestrian" to "Thinking on Your Feet." The program also facilitates discussion among participants about site-specific pedestrian requirements and concerns.

"In a warehouse environment, safety is everybody's responsibility. Just as operators have to be trained on how to operate a lift truck in a warehouse, pedestrians need to know how to navigate in a warehouse where lift trucks are being used," says Mike Angelini, manager of dealer and customer education for The Raymond Corporation.
