That approach to satisfying customer needs began with our founder, George G. Raymond, Sr., an efficiency engineer, and his development of the first hand hydraulic lift truck. It continued with the invention of the double-faced wooden pallet in the 1930s, and then our introduction of the narrow aisle concept in the 1950s, with the first Reach-Fork® lift truck.

We introduced the Swing-Reach® truck in the 1970s. As technology rapidly improved, we launched the first microprocessor controlled lift truck in North America in 1986.
