Performance without Compromise

Raymond Eco-Performance was demonstrated in Raymond booths #605 and #712 throughout the entire four-day MODEX 2012 show. Whether its Raymond lift trucks, technologies and automated solutions or productivity and performance solutions, Eco-Performance helps businesses save power. In some cases, Eco-Performance can save up to 40 percent more energy, depending on the model lift truck, as compared with competitive models.

Raymond Eco-Performance is the philosophy behind every Raymond product and warehouse solution - it's the engineering and the design of each truck which allows it to provide energy and ecological benefits.

Knowledge is Power

In Raymond booth #712, Raymond's iWarehouse fleet optimization system showcased its data gathering and reporting capabilities, which asks warehouse managers something they may have never thought about, "Do you know where your lift trucks are now?" The iWarehouse fleet optimization system is a comprehensive solution that can optimize a fleet, as well as an entire warehouse. Raymond's team demonstrated that by gathered the right data the system can right- size lift truck fleets and reallocate trucks or resources to other areas for increased productivity. The system also helps to reduce impacts, monitor lift truck batteries and make operator checklists electronic, with no paperwork required!

Joe LaFergola, marketing manager for business information and solutions for The Raymond Corporation, spoke at the MODEX seminar Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012. LaFergola addressed the importance of ensuring a business' equipment and solutions are customized and supported to meet the changing needs of that individual business. He suggests that considering a comprehensive review of a company's material handling operations and solutions can help to establish a pattern of continuous improvement for a business

Flexible Automation in Action

Raymond held an exclusive press conference for editors on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, before the MODEX 2012 show opened. The discussion mainly focused on finding the right solutions for business material handling problems. This led to Raymond's latest products, the new Raymond 7000 Series Reach-Fork truck and the introduction of the Raymond Courier automated lift truck.

A main highlight of the conference was seeing the Raymond Courier automated lift truck in action. The Raymond Courier automated lift truck is an operator-optional lift truck. Raymond demonstrated how an operator can program a truck route in just minutes. The Raymond Courier has the capability of learning up to 15 miles of various routes.

Frank Devlin, marketing manager for advanced technologies at The Raymond Corporation, discussed the topic of lean materials handling at a MODEX seminar Monday, Feb. 6, 2012. Devlin said the best way to ensure material handling goals are met, while also achieving lean best practices, is by evaluating company-specific requirements, and then seeing if the implementation of automation can help create a more cost-effective and efficient process.

Day 1: Monday, February 6, 2012

Doing More with Less

Every warehouse manager faces the challenge of moving more materials or products with less space, personnel and budget. To address these challenges, The Raymond Corporation has discovered various ways to optimize the resources warehouses already obtained.

Raymond’s two prominent booths, #605 and #712, stood out in a sea of nearly 500 other suppliers showcasing solutions and products for the material handling industry. Featuring a colorful eight-foot pyramid in the center of its main booth, #605, Raymond’s message was clear — the cost of a lift truck only accounts for about 11 percent of the total cost of ownership; it’s the actual labor costs which make up about 70 percent of that total cost of ownership.

Raymond’s booths showcase a wide array of products and solutions to help optimize the material handling needs of any business:

» Raymond Courier™ automated lift truck
» Raymond Model 7000 Series Reach-Fork® truck
» Raymond® Model 8000 Series pallet truck with PowerSteer
» iWarehouse® fleet optimization system and iBattery™ battery management module
